Monday Healing Moment: Opening Yourself to Receiving
Happy Monday 💛 Let's begin this week by remembering that you deserve to receive goodness, too.
Take a slow breath in. And a long, gentle breath out. Let yourself arrive here, without needing to give, do, or offer anything.
Now let your hands rest softly in front of you, palms open.
So much of life can become about what we give. Our time. Our energy. Our love. Our care.
But what about receiving?
Imagine something beautiful being placed gently into your open hands.
Perhaps it's kindness. Support. A compliment. An unexpected moment of care. Something you didn't have to earn.
Notice what it feels like to simply welcome it.
You don't have to immediately give something back. You don't have to prove yourself deserving. You can simply receive.
Let this gentle reminder settle within you: You are worthy of the love you so freely give. Worthy of support. Worthy of tenderness. Worthy of life's beautiful offerings.
As this week unfolds, imagine keeping your hands and heart a little more open to goodness.
Let yourself be surprised by care. Let kindness reach you. Let love find places to land.
Take one more slow breath, welcoming the possibility of receiving.
You deserve to experience the goodness you help create in this world.
Love, Lola Graham

Your Habits Impact Your Stress
How well you handle stress is influenced by basic daily habits.
In a study of about 400 college students, researchers found that healthier routines were associated with greater psychological flexibility, which is the ability to adapt your thinking, emotions, and behaviour when circumstances change. Instead of getting trapped in a pattern of negative thoughts, overwhelm or frustration, it helps you recognize what you’re feeling, step back, consider your options, and choose a more constructive response.
3 habits the researchers looked at and are linked with better psychological flexibility were:
Eating breakfast at least 5 days per week
Getting 6 or more hours of sleep
Doing at least 20 minutes of physical activity each day
This study shows association, not direct cause and effect, but these are great practical takeaways that you can test for yourself.
I was doing intermittent fasting (IF) for a while, which meant skipping breakfast. Since I have stopped IF and started eating breakfast regularly, I have noticed less stress and better energy throughout the day.
✅ Action Step: Are you struggling to deal with stress? Then take a look at this list and see if you’re ticking each of these boxes. If not, aim to implement at least one of these this week and see if it helps.
