2-Minute Self-Care Ritual: When You’re Feeling Fear
Fear is a natural response designed to protect you. But not all fear means danger. Sometimes it’s about growth, uncertainty, or stepping into something new.
The key is learning to tell the difference, so you can respond with clarity instead of just reacting.
🛑 Step 1: Assess Safety First (30–45 seconds):
Pause and ask yourself: “Am I physically safe right now?”
If yes, gently remind yourself: “This is discomfort, not danger.”
This step helps your nervous system differentiate between real threat and perceived fear.
🫁 Step 2: Regulate the Body (30–45 seconds):
Take a slow breath in for 4 seconds, and out for 6–8.
Repeat a few times.
Fear speeds everything up, your breath can slow it back down.
🔎 Step 3: Name the Fear (30–45 seconds):
Ask: “What am I actually afraid of here?”
Fear often becomes more manageable when it’s named. It brings clarity instead of a vague sense of panic. From this space of seeing your fear, reflect intentionally: “How do I want to move forward?”
Fear doesn’t (always) mean stop, sometimes it means you’re stepping into something meaningful, new, or expansive,
✅ Action step: The next time fear shows up, pause and ask: “Is this fear protecting me… or stretching me?”

How Your Type of Olive Oil Matters 🫒
In the store, you can typically find either extra virgin olive oil or refined olive oil. A recent study examined whether one provided more benefits than the other.
They found that those who regularly used extra-virgin olive oil showed improvements in cognitive function and greater gut microbiome diversity, while those using refined olive oil saw their microbiome diversity decline over the same period.
The difference comes down to processing. Extra virgin is cold-pressed, keeping its polyphenols and antioxidants intact. Refined olive oil is industrially processed, and a lot of what makes it beneficial gets stripped out along the way.
So the next time you go to buy Olive oil, make sure it is extra virgin.
✅ Action Step: Check your olive oil at home. If it just says "olive oil" or "light," it is likely refined. Next time, look for "extra virgin."
