Today’s Edition

We appreciate you, and we hope you are having a great day so far. If it hasn’t been wonderful, we hope this message is the spark you need for things to improve. Sending you a big hug, you gorgeous human!

Move More Often, Live Longer

Everyone knows exercising is important for your health, but so is the frequency you move throughout the day. Too much time spent being sedentary accelerates aging, while regular movement keeps your heart, muscles, and brain healthy and strong. To combat this, add in frequent small bursts of activity throughout the day.

This will boost blood flow, keeping your heart and brain sharp, reduce stiffness and strengthen muscles, which can help prevent muscle loss as you age, and moving more can lower your risk of chronic illnesses (like diabetes, heart disease, and dementia).

Examples of movement breaks:

  • Walk around the block

  • Stretch for 5 minutes

  • Foam roll

  • Dance to a song you love

  • Play something with yourself, your kids, your pet, a friend, etc.

Action Step: Set a timer to have a movement break for 2–5 minutes every hour. These add up and help you feel better as you go through your day, plus they can help you age more gracefully.

Releasing Limits on Happiness

What does happiness mean to you? Many of us keep a narrow definition, only “big, exciting” happiness counts. But if you can expand your definition, you’ll start spotting more good moments (even tiny ones) every day.

Ways to expand your idea of happy:

🎨 Happy comes in many tones. It can be loud & exciting - or - calm, quiet, and subtle. Let them all count.
🗣 Happy wears many names. Joy, awe, gratitude, hope, wonder, contentment, playfulness, serenity and more. Naming these feelings helps you notice them.
⚖️ Happy + hard can coexist. For example, you can be upset and still feel grateful for a friend listening. Make space for multiple truths.
Happy lives in the body. Lightness, warmth, butterflies, coziness, shimmers, glowy openness. Tune into physical sensations of happiness, too.
😊 Reinforce happiness. When you’re doing something that makes you happy (ex., taking a hot shower), tell yourself this is a joyful experience and this will help you notice happiness more, making it easier to access.

Action Step: Take a screenshot of these “happy expanders.” Check in throughout the day: What type of happy am I feeling right now? You might be surprised how often you find it.

PS. No one is happy all the time; that's not realistic. Happiness ebbs and flows, comes and goes. Accepting this makes stepping into happiness easier.
