Today’s Edition

Hi, lovely! You opened this email, which means that you are one of our favourite people in this whole dang world!!! And since you are on our list of our favourite people, we are sending you a huge hug and tons of love your way! Have the besttttt day!

Living Beyond Other People’s Opinions

Darling, you’re too fabulous to let other people’s opinions run your life. Seeking approval is human, but living for it is exhaustinggggg. When your sense of worth depends on how others see you, you hand over the keys to your happiness and well-being. Unhooking from external approval doesn’t mean you stop caring about others, it means you stop making their opinions the measure of your value or the deciders on how you get to live.

Why this matters:

  • ⚖️ You can’t please everyone. Trying to is a recipe for burnout.

  • 🌱 Your worth is internal. No amount of external validation can replace self-trust.

  • 🧠 It changes your decisions. When you stop chasing approval, you choose what’s true for you.

  • 💖 It strengthens authenticity. The more you act from your own values, the more at ease you feel in your life.

How to practice:

  • 📝 Keep a “values list” and use it as a compass when making decisions.

  • ⏸ Pause before agreeing to something—ask, “If no one had an opinion, would I still choose this?”

  • 🗣 Practice sharing an opinion you truly believe, even if it’s not the popular one. If this feels unsafe to start, try keeping an “opinions” note in your phone to strengthen your inner compass and make it easier to act from over time.

  • 📵 Take small social media breaks to notice how you feel without constant feedback.

Action Step: This week, notice one decision you’re making and check—is this for me, or for someone else’s approval? See what changes when you choose for yourself.

The Power of Generativity

Generativity is a fancy word for the concern and interest in helping to guide the next generation and this can take a number of forms like volunteering, mentoring, familial relationships and community involvement.

Research shows that people who regularly give back through mentoring, volunteering, or even small acts of kindness, tend to live longer, healthier lives.

Why? Helping others reduces stress, boosts mood, strengthens social bonds, and gives a sense of purpose. All of these are linked to lower rates of depression, improved immune function, and increased longevity.

Now you don’t need to start a nonprofit to practice generativity. It can be as simple as mentoring a younger colleague, volunteering an hour a month, checking in on a neighbor or just helping someone out. The key is to offer something of yourself in service to others.

Action Step: This week, choose one small way to practice generativity, share advice, lend a hand, or give your time. Your future self and the world will thank you!

Today’s Mental and Emotional Workout:

Practice stepping into your enoughness and build skills in mindfulness.

Choose wonder over worry for one minute; look up. The sky has a way of putting things in perspective.

📖Journal Prompt:

What’s one hard thing I’ve been dealing with lately and what would I say to a friend who felt the way I feel right now?

🌟Spark of Joy:

Laugh at something silly — like when an inside joke sends you into unstoppable giggles.

🦋Weekly Connection & Kindness Challenge:

💬Ask a Thoughtful Question
Go beyond “How are you?” and really listen.

Self-Soothing Strategies: Calming Tools for Different Environments

Self-soothing is the act of calming your emotional distress, helping regulate your nervous system, especially when trauma responses are on overdrive.

Day 2: At Home
Learning to self-soothe at home is a great way to turn home into a safe space and sanctuary. Tip: if your home is busy, you can choose a go-to spot for tough moments (even if it's the bathroom). Give these at-home self-soothing techniques a try:

  • 🫂Wrap up in a blanket and focus on warmth.

  • 🎶Listen to calming music or nature sounds.

  • 👃Use scent (lavender, citrus) to shift your state.

  • 🚿Take a warm (or cold) shower or run your hands under water and imagine the water washing away troubles

Keep at it: Self-soothing isn’t a magic eraser for emotion, instead, it can help you process smoother. It’s a practice so keep at it & build a deeper relationship with yourself.

Darling, don’t give up on yourself, you’re so worth it. Sending love 💕
