Today’s Edition

Some people make you realize how wonderful this world is, and spoiler alert… You are one of those people!!!

Energy Leaks: The Subtle Drains on Your System

You can’t heal burnout if your energy keeps leaking out faster than you refill it. Many energy drains are invisible: tiny, habitual ways we overextend, overthink, or overgive. They can be things you feel obligated to do, ways you say yes without thinking, or simply areas of life that are no longer in alignment but you haven’t chosen to make a change yet. Spotting and sealing these “energy leaks” helps your system restore capacity before you crash. Assessing “energy leaks” is something I like to do at least every quarter so I can make sure my life evolves with me and that I can show up in the ways that matter most.

🌟 Common energy leaks to watch for

  • 🗣️ Saying yes when your body says no.

  • 💬 Denying, overexplaining or justifying your boundaries.

  • 📱 Constant low-level stimulation (scrolling, notifications, multitasking).

  • 💭 Mental rumination: rehashing what’s out of your control.

  • 🤝 Emotional caretaking: absorbing others’ moods or needs before your own.

  • 👻”Shoulds” or “norms” that you agree to and engage in out of obligation. Check for what no longer inspires you or feels like it fit an old version of you.

Action Step: Choose one energy leak to patch this week. Set a small boundary, delete a distraction, or consciously release a draining thought. Protecting energy is productivity.

🔊 A Hidden Stressor Affecting Your Health

Constant noise from traffic, appliances, or crowded environments can do more than irritate you; it can impact your nervous system, heart, and brain.

Research shows chronic exposure to noise pollution can raise stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, contributing to high blood pressure, poor sleep, and even an increased risk of heart disease and cognitive decline over time.

Each of us is different, and we can each have a different tolerance for noise. For some, even low-level noise can keep your body on alert, preventing full relaxation and recovery. It can also reduce focus, productivity, and emotional well-being by overstimulating your senses and draining mental energy.

Creating moments of quiet helps your nervous system reset and supports deeper rest and emotional balance.

Action step: Give yourself at least 10-15 minutes a day (if you can) of intentional quiet time to lower stress, steady your heartbeat, and restore calm.

Anger as Ally: Reclaiming Emotional Expression

Trauma often teaches us to fear or suppress anger. But anger isn’t dangerous in itself, it’s sacred, protective energy that says, “Something unjust happened. I deserve better.” This week is about reclaiming anger as an ally, learning safe ways to express it, and recognizing its healing power.

Day 3: Somatic Expression of Anger
The body often carries stored anger. Somatic release helps the nervous system process it safely. This can be especially helpful when you feel like the anger won’t subside or you’re not sure what to do with it.

  • Push into a wall with your arms and legs, noticing your strength.

  • 🛏️ Do pillow slams or scream into a pillow: release sound and movement together.

  • 🖐️ Squeeze your hands into fists, hold, then slowly release with breath.

  • 🐆 Try shaking your body like an animal releasing tension.

  • 🌟 These practices let anger move through you without harming yourself or others.

Darling, don’t give up on yourself, you’re so worth it. Sending love 💕

When overwhelmed, shrink the task until it’s easy to start. The first step is all you need.

🌟Spark of Joy:
Let Little Things Move You

Turn on or off a light to set a mood… the big light light an indoor sun, switching to a soft lamp in the evening, or setting the mood with a candle.
