Monday Healing Moment: Trusting Your Own Pace
Happy Monday 💛 Before this week speeds up, let’s reconnect with your own pace, one that honours where you are and what you need.
Take a slow breath in. And a long breath out. Let yourself settle here.
Now imagine stepping away from timelines for a moment. Away from comparison. Away from the pressure to be further along.
Feel what happens in your body when you stop rushing yourself or pressuring yourself to move in a way that defies your needs. What opens up here?
Maybe there’s a little more space. A little more breathing room. A little less pressure pressing against your chest. A little more clarity as your heart has room to speak.
Your life is not behind. Your healing is not behind. Your growth is not behind. Your path is your own. Unique to you. Not living on someone else’s timeline.
Nature does not rush itself. Seasons change when they are ready.
Flowers bloom at different times. Waves arrive in their own rhythm.
And you are allowed to have your own pace too.
Some seasons are for growth.
Some are for rest.
Some are for rebuilding.
Some are simply for surviving gently.
All of those seasons deserve respect and care that recognizes where you’re at. As this week begins, let yourself release the idea that your worth is tied to speed.
You do not have to race yourself to deserve your life.
Take one more slow breath.
Let yourself settle into your own timing.
Let yourself settle into the pace of your heart.
Love, Lola Graham

What Are Seed Oils and What Does Research Say About Them?
Seed oils (canola, sunflower, soybean, corn, and others) have become a hotly debated topic in nutrition. The main claim people use against them is that their omega-6 fatty acids drive inflammation and chronic disease. But does the research support this claim?
The human evidence does not. A systematic review of 36 intervention studies found that dramatically increasing linoleic acid, the main omega-6 in seed oils, did not raise inflammatory markers in the blood. A 2024 meta-analysis found that higher linoleic acid intake was actually linked to lower levels of C-reactive protein, one of the primary markers of inflammation.
The biochemical argument against seed oils is not completely without logic; the pathway exists in theory, but the human body is intelligent and tightly regulates how much it actually converts to pro-inflammatory compounds.
Where the concern has more legitimacy is ultra-processed food, which is loaded with seed oils. But the harm there is not from the seed oil itself but from eating nutritionally poor foods, which then crowd out higher-quality and nutrient-dense foods from the diet.
The main takeaway here is that you do not need to be scared of seed oils. Instead, use that mental energy to focus on consuming most of your food (80%+) from high-quality whole food sources.
✅ Action Step: Rather than stressing about which oil is in your food, focus on what the oil is going with is it ultra-processed foods or whole foods?
