Envy From Scrolling Social (Tips & Reframes)

Social media gives us everyone else’s highlight reel, and your nervous system responds in real time. Envy is not a flaw; it’s a signal that something in someone else’s life matters to you, too. Instead of shaming yourself, you can use envy as information, compassion, and (surprisingly) motivation.

  • 💬Name it to bring into context: “This is envy.”

  • 🌱 Let envy guide curiosity: “This points to something I care about. What is it communicating to me?”

  • Avoid comparing your behind-the-scenes to their curated moment. If you can’t avoid it, then name it “this is their highlight reel, not the behind the scenes.”

  • ❤️ Normalize it: envy is a human emotion, not a moral failure.

  • 📵 Set limits if your nervous system feels inflamed. Mute or limit accounts that trigger pain without meaning.

  • ✍️ Ask yourself what value the envy is pointing toward.

Action Step: Notice one moment of envy today and ask, “What is this showing me that I long for?”

A Common Nutrient Deficiency that Hurts the Brain 🧠

Research out of Arizona State University has found that a number of people are deficient in Choline.

Other research has highlighted how having enough choline in the brain is believed to help protect against age-related cognitive decline and Alzihiemer’s disease. This is because having enough choline in the brain can help preserve neurons, brain volume, and neuronal transmissions.

Choline is a vitamin-like nutrient. Some good sources are meat, egg yolks, legumes, dairy, sundried tomatoes and fish. Making sure you consistently eat foods with good sources of choline is important to keep your brain healthy.

Action step: Eat some foods today that are high in choline. 

Restoring from Emotional Exhaustion

Emotional exhaustion happens when your heart, nervous system, and mind have been carrying too much for too long. This week is about recognizing signs of depletion and gently rebuilding emotional energy with care, rest, and boundaries.

Day 4: Protecting Your Energy Through Boundaries

Emotional exhaustion often comes from giving more than you have. A powerful part of healing is learning to protect your energy gently and consistently.

🚧 Say “I can’t do that today” without apology or see where you can ask for help.
• 🗓️ Build mini-pauses or rest moments into your routine.
• 🛡️ Limit emotional labor when you’re depleted.
🌼 Boundaries are love for your future self.
