Today’s Edition

The world has rhythms in the seasons, and as people, we have seasons too. Certain things become more important; others, less so.

Give yourself grace, cut yourself some slack. You’re doing your best, lovely. We are proud of you!

Why Play Is an Adult Productivity Tool

Play isn’t childish, it’s restorative. It restores creativity, reduces stress, boosts problem-solving, and increases psychological flexibility. When you play, your nervous system shifts out of survival mode and back into curiosity and openness. This means a little play reset can do wonders for your productivity, giving you the energy, perspective, and state of mind to get back to work and actually move the needle.

Play makes your brain more capable, not less responsible. Play doesn’t waste time, it refreshes the system that does the work, helping you get more done in the long run.

🌟 Ways to add more play to your life

  • 🎨 Do something creative with no outcome in mind (ie. remove the pressure to be good at it.)

  • 😂 Invite silliness: music, singing, dancing, goofy moments.

  • 🚶 Take a walk with the intention of exploring, not exercising.

  • 🎮 Try a game, puzzle, or lighthearted activity.

Action Step: Add one micro-moment of play to your day, even 60 seconds counts!

Fitness Friday: Exercise Redundancy 🏋️

We all only have so much time in the day, so avoiding exercise redundancy while you exercise is a good way to maximize the benefits from your exercise.

Exercise redundancy is when you do movements in the same session that do the same or similar things. For example, doing sit-ups and crunches. These are both core flexion exercises, where you are bringing your sternum closer to your hips under load, which means they work the same muscles.

Instead, it would be a good idea to switch one out for maybe a core extension movement like supermen or back extensions. This now helps to target a different set of muscles, helping to broaden the benefits of your workout to other muscles.

This can help you save time during your workout and make your workout more effective. If you are trying to figure out if an exercise is redundant, look at the movement pattern and resistance path. (like the lat pulldown and a pull-up). If it is very similar or the same, then it is probably redundant.

Action step: If you are doing resistance training, then see if your program has any exercise redundancy during each session. If you are not doing resistance training, then start! It is so important for your short-term and long-term well-being.

Restoring from Emotional Exhaustion

Emotional exhaustion happens when your heart, nervous system, and mind have been carrying too much for too long. This week is about recognizing signs of depletion and gently rebuilding emotional energy with care, rest, and boundaries.

Day 5: Rebuilding Emotional Capacity With Compassion

Recovery from emotional exhaustion doesn’t mean returning to an older version of yourself, it means creating a steadier, kinder way of living now. You rebuild energy slowly, intentionally, and with deep self-respect.

🌞 Celebrate even small increases in energy or clarity.
🪞 Remind yourself: “I’m allowed to rest without guilt.”
🌿 Practice choosing what nourishes you.
🧡 Let your healing be slow: slow is sustainable.

Darling, don’t give up on yourself, you’re so worth it. Sending love 💕

📖Journal Prompt:
Building a Caring Relationship with Yourself

What is one tiny act of rebellion you can practice against burnout culture today? (Examples: slowing down, savoring, saying no.)

🌟Spark of Joy:
Let Little Things Move You

Notice how your clothes rest on your body… the weight, the texture, the gentle familiarity.
