Not Enoughness: Loosening Limiting Mindsets
Not enoughness is the persistent feeling that who you are, what you do, or what you have is somehow never quite enough.
There’s always another milestone to reach, flaw to fix, or version of yourself you need to become before you can finally feel worthy, successful, lovable, or proud.
Growth can be beautiful. But when the finish line for “enough” keeps moving, even our accomplishments can leave us feeling empty. Loosening not enoughness means learning that growth and enoughness can exist at the same time.
Common ways not enoughness limits us:
• 🪞 Believing you need to improve yourself before you can feel worthy
• 🏆 Reaching a goal and immediately moving the finish line
• 📉 Minimizing progress because you could have done more
• 👀 Constantly looking to others for evidence of how you measure up
• 🔄 Treating rest, joy, or pride as something you have to earn
Ways to gently loosen not enoughness:
• 🥠 Ask: Who or what taught me that this wasn't enough?
• 🌱 Let growth come from desire and curiosity, not just self-rejection
• 💙 Practice acknowledging what is already good, meaningful, or worthy
• 🎯 Notice when you've moved the goalpost after reaching it
• 🌿 Allow “I want to grow” and “I am enough now” to coexist
You don't have to stop becoming to recognize the worth of who you already are. Enoughness isn't the finish line. It can be where you grow from.
✅ Action step: Notice one place where you've been telling yourself you'll finally be “enough” when something changes. Ask: What if I let myself be enough while still wanting more for my life?

Fitness Friday:
Has “Training” Ruined Exercise?
I’ve noticed this trend for a while now, and I think it is doing a lot of damage to people’s perception of exercise and movement.
Exercise is commonly referred to as “training,” which is creating this social shift of movement needing to be a thing you take seriously, especially if you’re training for a marathon, HYROX competition, powerlifting meet, bodybuilding show, triathlon, etc., which are all great and can provide motivation to move, BUT…
MOVEMENT CAN AND SHOULD BE FUN, and I will die on this hill. As a child, having fun when you moved was innate; as adults, we often lock that part away unlock that door and let yourself have some fun while moving!
I have dreaded running the last couple of years, as I also got convinced I needed to be serious and “train”, but recently I ditched this and have started running with only 2 goals in mind.
Move my body to get my heart rate up
HAVE FUN!
Today I went on a run, and it was a freaking blast. I jumped as I ran, trying to touch leaves and branches; I weaved back and forth on an empty trail, spun around in circles, danced as I ran, sang, and let out a primal scream walkway over the highway.
None of these things help me run faster; in fact, they probably slowed me down, so they definitely aren’t part of “training.” But I let myself be silly, and it was SO fun; the best result is that I now enjoy running. It is easy to get out the door and go for one.
I’ve also brought this mentality into my resistance training sessions at the gym by dancing between sets.
We are all going to die; why take the serious and boring road to the end?
✅ Action Step: Next time you go to do some exercise, be silly and have some fun. Life is short; don’t make it boring too.
