Monday Healing Moment: Letting Yourself Be Seen

Happy Monday 💛 Let’s begin this week by gently softening around visibility.

Take a slow breath in. And a long breath out. Let yourself settle here.

Now imagine what it would feel like to stop hiding certain parts of yourself quite so much.

Not all at once. Not dramatically. Just gently, softly, letting yourself be you.

Maybe there are parts of you that learned it was safer to stay small. Safer to stay quiet. Safer to blend in, avoid judgment, or protect your heart.

And maybe those parts helped you survive.

But there is also a part of you longing to breathe more freely. To exist more honestly. To be seen without constantly editing yourself first.

Take a moment to imagine yourself moving through this week with a little less shrinking.
A little less apologizing for your presence.
A little more permission to be fully human.

You do not have to perform perfection to deserve connection.

The right people are not asking you to erase yourself to belong.

As this week begins, let yourself practice taking up space in small ways:
Sharing a thought.
Wearing what feels like you.
Laughing more freely.
Expressing a need.
Allowing yourself to exist without overexplaining.

Take one more slow breath. Let yourself soften into your own visibility.

You are allowed to be seen. And being seen starts with noticing yourself.

Love, Lola Graham

The Deficiency That Feels Like Getting Old

Fatigue, brain fog, weak muscles, numbness in your hands, poor balance. It's easy to write these off as "just getting older." But sometimes the cause is a shortage of one vitamin: B12.

Your body needs only a tiny amount of B12 a day, 2 micrograms, which is less than a fragment of a grain of salt, yet running low on B12 can make you feel awful.

This is because B12 is needed to make red blood cells, and researchers are now finding it also helps your mitochondria (the parts of your cells that produce energy) work properly. That may be why some people feel wiped out before the classic anemia even shows up.

B12 comes mainly from animal foods (meat, fish, eggs, dairy), so vegans and vegetarians are at higher risk of deficiency. But so are older adults, because it becomes harder to absorb with age.

If you think you might be low in B12, go get a blood test done to see what your levels are currently at.

Action Step: If you've been persistently tired, foggy, or tingly, don't just assume it's age. Ask your doctor for a B12 blood test, especially if you eat little or no animal products.
