Today’s Edition

It’s my birthday, and for my birthday, I wish for you to have a wonderful day and week!!

Monday Healing Moment: Letting Your Authenticity Breathe

Happy Monday 💛. Let’s begin this week by creating a little more room for you to be you.

Take a slow breath in. And a long breath out.

Imagine your exhale gently loosening everything you’ve learned to hold tightly.

The parts you soften to keep others comfortable. The opinions you second-guess. The quirks you hide. The feelings you edit. The pieces of yourself you wonder might be “too much.”

Let them breathe.

You don’t have to reveal every part of yourself to everyone. Authenticity can have boundaries.

But there is something healing about having spaces, relationships, and moments where you don’t have to constantly translate yourself into someone more acceptable.

Imagine taking a deep breath as your whole self. Expansive. Unedited. Alive. There you are.

As this week begins, notice where you feel free to breathe as yourself. And perhaps, little by little, create more of those spaces.

Say the thing you mean. Wear the thing you love. Follow what fascinates you. Laugh the way you laugh.

Take one more deep, freeing breath. You were never meant to spend your whole life holding yourself in.

Let yourself breathe.

Love, Lola Graham

An Overlooked Health Habit

It’s my birthday, and I am always reminded today of the importance of connecting with other people, and it is a habit that can boost your health too.

A meta-analysis of over 300,000 people found that individuals with strong social relationships had a 50% higher likelihood of survival compared to those with weaker social ties. That's the same type of survival advantage as quitting smoking.

Also, the Harvard Study of Adult Development, which has run for over 85 years, found that the quality of your relationships is the single strongest predictor of how well and how long you live.

This is because social connection regulates stress hormones, lowers systemic inflammation, and buffers the body against the physical toll of chronic adversity. Loneliness, by contrast, has been classified by the WHO as a serious public health risk, on par with obesity and physical inactivity.

Action Step: Reach out to one person you've been meaning to connect with via a text, a call, or set up a coffee.

PS. If you want to give me a gift, I would REALLY appreciate it if you go follow my spectacular wife @LoveLolaGraham on Instagram. I appreciate you!
