Today’s Edition

There are 3 things that we would like you to know today:

  1. Some turtles can breathe through their butts (weird, right?)

  2. You are enough as you are.

  3. Step out of your shell (don’t be a butt breathing turtle) and let the world see how wonderful you are, because you are truly wonderful.

Choosing Hope Over Cynicism

Cynicism can feel safer than hope. It shields us from disappointment, prepares us for the worst, and creates a sense of control. But it also closes the heart. Hope is not naïve, hope is an act of courage. It’s choosing to believe in possibility even when there are no guarantees. Hope doesn’t deny pain, it honors our desire for something better. Hope is staying open and asking yourself what small actions you can take that are in line with the future you want to live in.

I have always loved the powerful reminder that cynicism is how we let the hate win because it reminds me that I refuse to be a part of that future. I also enjoy the reminder that so much of the good we have today is because our ancestors hoped for better and now it’s our turn to do the same for future generations. So, here are some ways you can keep hope alive:

🌟 Ways to keep hope alive

  • 🌞 Let both things be true: “This is hard and there is still possibility.”

  • 💌 Surround yourself with hopeful stories, art, and community.

  • 🌱 Take one small action that reflects your values. Action sustains hope.

  • 🕯️ Limit media that drains your spirit.

  • 💖 Name what you’re for, not just what you’re against.

  • 🌿Find community where hope is active. This could mean joining pre-existing activist groups where you can participate in actions that support the future you want, or even listening to podcasts that fuel narrative not to give up.

Action Step: Complete this sentence: “Even though it’s hard, I still believe…” Let that be your gentle declaration of hope.

New Study on How to Get Things Moving 💩

A new study from researchers at King’s College London has created the first evidence-based diet guidelines for people who suffer from chronic constipation. If you have ever been constipated, you know it is not fun, so having guidelines that can help is wonderful.

The guidelines are as follows from the study:

Overall, specific fibre supplements (i.e., psyllium supplements), certain probiotic strains, magnesium oxide supplements, kiwifruits, rye bread and high mineral water have all been shown to improve specific constipation outcomes” (Eirini Dimidi, et al., Oct 2025).

I occasionally take 1 tsp - ½ tbsp of psyllium powder if I am feeling backed up, and I have personally found that very helpful. You can get capsules of psyllium, but if you do the powder, make sure you mix it with a good amount of water and chug it quickly before it turns into glue.

Action step: If you have been struggling with constipation, then try out some of the recommendations, and hopefully they can help you get things moving along!

Honoring Your Strength and Resilience

Healing isn’t only about reducing pain, it’s also about honoring your survival, your resilience, and the strength it takes to keep going. This week shifts focus from wounds to worthiness, reminding you that you are so much more than what you went through.

Day 3: Letting Joy Back In (When and If It Feels Safe)

Joy after trauma can feel complicated, tender, unfamiliar, or even unsafe. Joy does not erase pain; it coexists with it. Allowing moments of warmth, softness, or pleasure can be an act of reclamation, but only when it feels right for you. The invitation is simply to notice what feels even a little nourishing.

💃 Try one small thing that feels gentle or pleasant.
🎶 Let music, movement, or nature soften something inside you.
🍓 Joy is not denial: it’s letting in a flicker of life.
🌞 Even brief joy is meaningful, no force, no pressure.

Darling, don’t give up on yourself, you’re so worth it. Sending love 💕

📖Journal Prompt:
Building a Caring Relationship with Yourself

Write a letter from your future self who is grounded, safe, and rooted.
What do they want you to know right now?

🌟Spark of Joy:
Let Little Things Move You

Smile at your reflection… not to change anything, but to acknowledge the soul looking back.
