Today’s Edition

We often get what we want and move on.
Pause and think of something you wanted and now have.
Take a deep breath, soak in that having.

Monday Healing Moment: Trusting Yourself to Meet the Week

Happy Monday 💛 Let’s begin this week by reconnecting with something steady within you.

Take a slow breath in. And a long breath out.
Feel yourself arrive here.

Now gently bring to mind a moment, any moment, where you handled something hard. You figured something out. You got through something you weren’t sure you could.

You’ve made it through so much. That power exists within you.

Let that memory sit with you for a second. Not to pressure you, but to remind you.

There is a steadiness in you. A quiet ability to adapt, to learn, to keep going.

You don’t need to have everything mapped out to move forward. You don’t need certainty to take your next step.

You just need a willingness to meet what comes, and you’ve already shown that you can.

As this week begins, let yourself carry that quiet self-trust with you. Not loud. Not forced. Just steady.

No matter what this week brings, no matter where you are in life right now, you will and can make it through. This week will add to the wisdom of your life as an example of just how capable you are.

Take one more slow breath. Let strength settle in your heart.

You can meet this week, one step at a time.

7 Hacks of an Active Person🏃‍♂️

I am an active person. The big reason is that if I am not active, my stress levels skyrocket and my mental health takes a hit. So I move throughout the week and throughout the day to help.

Several people have been asking for tips to be more active, so here are 7 that can help you increase your activity!

  1. Park away from the store: if you drive, this is an easy one. The further you park, the further you need to walk. It’s a sneaky way to get more steps in. For this, I compromise; I don’t park as far as possible, but I also don’t take the closest spot. I park in the middle, and this makes it easier to commit to.

  2. Carry your groceries: When I go to the grocery store, I always try to carry out my groceries to the car instead of using a buggy. Depending on what you bought, this can be a full-body workout!

  3. Plan: I know days before when I am going to exercise and when. This makes it much easier to stay consistent because it isn’t a matter of “feeling like it,” it is just a matter of doing what is on my schedule; a half-assed workout is better than nothing!

  4. Can I walk there?: The answer isn’t always yes, but by asking this question, it helps break out of defaulting to the choice of driving or taking transit.

  5. Adopt hobbies that move you: For example, gardening, hiking and DIY projects have been good ones for me to disconnect from the screen and move my body in different ways.

  6. Use waiting time: It is easy to default to mindless scrolling while you wait, try stretching or walking instead. This is especially useful during travel time, like waiting for planes, trains or buses.

  7. Play: Our dog demands that I go outside and play with her every evening, whether it is a blizzard or the sun is shining, and as a sucker, I always go. I end up getting in extra activity and having fun. Look for ways to play, with friends, your kids, pets, etc. often play doesn't feel like an activity.

Action Step: Try one of these 7 this next week and let me know how it goes. Email us back at [email protected] or send us a DM on social.
