Monday Healing Moment: Feeling Connected to Something Bigger

Happy Monday 💛 Let’s begin this week by widening our perspective for a moment.

Take a slow breath in. And a long breath out. Feel yourself here. Breathing. Existing. Alive in this moment.

Now gently imagine yourself as part of something larger than your current worries, pressures, or to-do lists.

Part of humanity. Part of nature. Part of life itself, unfolding.

You are not separate from this world. You belong within it.

Imagine the oceans moving with rhythm.
Trees growing steadily toward light.
The moon pulling tides from afar.
Millions of people waking up today carrying hopes, fears, dreams, and healing too.

And here you are among them. A living part of this vast, connected experience.

Sometimes we become so consumed by stress that life starts to feel small and isolating.

But there is a bigger picture holding you.

A world full of connection. Meaning. Beauty. Movement. Love.

You do not have to carry the entire weight of existence alone.

As this week begins, let yourself feel supported by something greater than constant striving.

Maybe it’s nature. Maybe it’s community. Maybe it’s spirituality. Maybe it’s simply the shared experience of being human.

Take one more slow breath. Let yourself feel connected to life again.

You are part of something beautifully bigger than yourself.

Love, Lola Graham

6 Nutrients Most People Don’t Get Enough Of

Most people eat enough food, but don’t get enough of the right nutrients. Here are six that research consistently shows large portions of the population are falling short on.

Magnesium: Around 48% of people do not meet the recommended intake, and low levels are linked to poor sleep, muscle cramps, anxiety, high blood pressure, and increased type 2 diabetes risk.

Good sources: pumpkin seeds, dark leafy greens, black beans, almonds.

Vitamin D: Around 40% of adults are deficient, with higher rates in northern climates and people who work indoors. It supports immune function, bone health, mood and may reduce Alzheimer's-linked protein buildup.

Good sources: sunshine, fatty fish, egg yolks, fortified foods, and supplements through winter.

Omega-3s: Most people consume far too little EPA and DHA, low levels are linked to inflammation, cardiovascular disease, and poorer cognitive function.

Best sources: fatty fish two to three times a week, or a quality fish oil supplement.

Fibre: The average person gets about half the recommended daily intake, and low fibre is linked to poor gut health, cardiovascular disease, blood sugar dysregulation, and increased cancer risk.

Best sources: beans, lentils, oats, vegetables, and whole grains.

Potassium: Most people fall well short of the recommended 3,500 to 4,700mg per day, which matters significantly for blood pressure and cardiovascular health.

Best sources: avocado, sweet potato, spinach, lentils, salmon, and bananas.

Iron: The most common nutritional deficiency worldwide, especially in women and vegetarians, is a frequently overlooked cause of fatigue, brain fog, and low energy.

Best sources: red meat and organ meats for bioavailability, or lentils, tofu, and pumpkin seeds with vitamin C to improve absorption.

Action Step: Pick the one you suspect you are lowest on and integrate more foods in your diet that are rich in it.
