Monday Healing Moment: Letting Yourself Set It Down

Happy Monday ๐Ÿ’› Before this week begins to fill, letโ€™s create a moment of space. A little reset and release.

Take a slow breath in. And a long, gentle breath out. Let your shoulders soften just a little.

Now, imagine youโ€™re holding something in your hands, something worth letting go. It might be pressure. Expectations. Lingering stress. Something from last week that hasnโ€™t quite left yet.ย

Notice the weight of it, the subtle heaviness from carrying what you no longer need.ย

And for this moment, just for nowโ€ฆ imagine placing it down.
Let your hands fall open, the weight drift away. Feel the balancing recognition that you donโ€™t have to solve it, but you also donโ€™t have to carry it all forward.

Take a clearing, healing breath in. And as you exhale, releasing a little more, feel what itโ€™s like to have just a little more space. Space for extra kindness. Space for extra self-love. Space for releasing unneeded pressures so you can shine a little brighter. Unhindered.ย ย

Not everything needs to come with you into this week.

Some things can be set down. Some things can wait. Some things arenโ€™t yours to hold alone.

Let yourself begin this week lighter. Not because everything is perfect, but because you donโ€™t have to carry everything at once. A little less weight, a little more empowerment.

Take one more slow breath.

You are allowed to move forward with more ease.

Love, Lola Graham

Are You Making This Eating Mistake?ย

You could be eating a super-nutrient-dense meal and still be shortchanging your body by not chewing enough.

Digestion begins in your mouth. Chewing triggers saliva production, which contains enzymes like amylase that begin breaking down carbohydrates before food even reaches your stomach. The more thoroughly you chew, the greater the surface area exposed to digestive enzymes, which allows your body to actually absorb the nutrients you're eating.

I have recently noticed that I havenโ€™t been chewing my food enough, so I have been consciously slowing down and trying to make my food into a paste before swallowing. Iโ€™ve noticed better digestion, less bloating, gas and better energy.

Research also suggests that slower, more deliberate chewing supports satiety signals, meaning you may naturally eat less without feeling deprived.

A simple target is to aim for 20 - 30 chews per bite.

โœ… Action Step: Put your fork down between bites at one meal today and chew deliberately, trying to make each bite into a paste. Then notice how it impacts your digestion.
