Today’s Edition

Hi there you worthy, glorious human. You’re not just someone, you’re the someone people are grateful to know. Including us! Thanks for bringing your energy into this space. You rock!

Fitness Friday: The BEST form of cardio
Everyone who wants to live a long, healthy life should be doing some form of cardio during the week.
Why? It strengthens your heart, lungs, can strengthen your muscles, improves your circulation, lowers bad cholesterol, lowers blood pressure, improves mood, can improve sleep and can lower the risk of developing chronic diseases
As a trainer, many people ask me “what is the best type of cardio to do?”
The reality is, it depends… the best for you is the type you’ll actually do. Because it doesn't matter what type. What matters is that you do it.
In the warmer months, I hike, run and play tennis. In the colder months, I play ice hockey and use the stairmaster. Maybe you hate all of these and love swimming or biking - amazing!
If your chosen form of cardio checks the following 3 boxes, you’re good to go!
♥️It elevates your heart rate and keeps it elevated
😁You enjoy it (at least somewhat)
🦴It doesn’t hurt your joints or aggravate old or new injuries.
PS. Pair cardio with things you already enjoy to make it more fun, like listening to music, podcasts or an audiobook 📖
✅Action step: figure out what type(s) of cardio are for you and do them regularly.

Giving Yourself Permission to Feel Good, Even When Life Is Heavy
When the world feels heavy (or someone you love is struggling), it can feel wrong to let yourself enjoy a moment of peace, laughter, or joy. But you don’t need to earn your way to feeling good and feeling good doesn’t need to mean that everything is perfect. You have permission to feel good now, even just for a moment. Feeling good doesn’t mean you don’t care. It means you’re honoring your humanity, giving your nervous system space to breathe, your heart a moment to soften, and your spirit the fuel it needs to keep showing up.
Why giving yourself permission matters:
🌗 Joy and pain can coexist: you don’t have to choose between them. Embracing the nuance is important.
🌱 Positive emotions help you recover, stay engaged, and build resilience.
🧠 Your nervous system needs moments of relief to stay balanced and avoid burnout.
💖 The hard stuff isn’t the full story. Life has little joys and beauties that we’ll miss if we wait for the hardship to go away first.
✅ Action Step: Choose one small thing that brings you joy or comfort: music, movement, laughter, time in nature. Before you start, say to yourself “I give myself permission to enjoy this fully, without guilt.” Now, feel the good deeply. Let it nourish you. Let it count.
Ps. Sometimes giving yourself “permission” can feel silly but silly is allowed and might just be what you need to shake things up.

Today’s Mental and Emotional Workout:
Today’s workout will help you live a more heart-centered life.

You don’t have to earn your rest. Rest isn’t just a way to be more productive, it’s your right. Let rest become a safe space, a sacred part of life, free from guilt.

📖Journal Prompt:
What do you admire about yourself and why? (It can be big or small)
🌟Spark of Joy:
Wear something that makes you smile — like changing into a perfectly soft, comfy shirt that feels safe and at home on your body.
🦋Weekly Connection & Kindness Challenge:
Send a Gratitude Message: Text, email, or DM someone to let them know you appreciate them and why.

Masking
Masking is a common coping mechanism after trauma. This week’s series helps you notice, understand, and begin to soften the mask.
Day 5: Reconnecting With Your Authentic Self
Gradually reducing masking can deepen self-connection and resilience.
🏄♀️Spend time alone doing something that feels completely “you.”
✍️Write down what you value, enjoy, or believe: without considering others’ opinions.
🤸♀️Celebrate even small moments when you allowed your true self to be seen.
Darling, don’t give up on yourself, you’re so worth it. Sending love 💕
