The Gift of Stillness in a Noisy World
We’re surrounded by input, notifications, headlines, chatter. The constant noise can drown out our inner truths, overstimulate our system, and wear us down. We need breaks. But, those breaks can feel hard to take when we’re addicted to the stimulation. We might even think of moments of stillness as unproductive, empty, or pointless.
But stillness isn’t emptiness; it’s the space where insight and calm live. When we give ourselves even a few minutes of stillness, our nervous system resets and our inner wisdom has room to speak. We let healing in, working its subtle magic in ways that we might not notice at first. The more we constantly show up for that stillness, the more we can see the energy and life a little space brings into our world.
🌟 Ways to invite stillness:
🌿 Create mini silence moments: no phone, no talking, just breathing, just being.
🕯️ Observe your surroundings quietly, noticing sounds and sensations.
🧘 Practice “pause points” throughout the day: one deep breath before replying, standing, or shifting tasks.
✍️ Let stillness be creative: doodle, journal, or simply think without pressure.
🌙 Protect stillness before bed, giving your mind time to digest the day.
✅ Action Step: Try a two-minute stillness break today. Close your eyes, exhale slowly, and notice what softens inside.

Avoid this Toilet Habit 🚽
A new study found that people who used their smartphones on the toilet had a 46% higher risk of hemorrhoids compared to those who didn’t. Why? It’s the extra time spent sitting.
About 37% of phone users stayed on the toilet longer than 5 minutes (vs just 7% of non-users). That added time increases pressure on the veins in the rectal area, which can lead to swelling, discomfort, and hemorrhoids.
The fix is simple, don’t bring your phone with you to the toilet or if you have to set a timer so you don’t spend too much time there.
✅ Action Step: Leave your phone outside the bathroom and aim to keep toilet time under 5 minutes.
